I'd love to know what you're working on, whether poetry or prose, and if you're struggling with any issues in particular. We all face challenges, so it's great to bounce ideas and setbacks off each other.
Though I may not be able to solve your problems, I'll happily offer my eyes and ears here to listen as you vent...or celebrate!
I self-published my first two books, and will do the same with the third, so I'd be happy to tell you more about that process anytime. Or perhaps you've published something through a traditional publishing house or you're doing that now. I'm sure some of our members can tell you what their experiences have been.
As for your poetry writing, I know it can be very personal and subjective, but I think I have a pretty good eye for what makes a successful poem, so please feel free to bounce ideas off me anytime! I tend to be very firm and correcting, but I think that can only help you. You can turn to any of your close friends for praise anytime on here, but it's important to also hear constructive, kind criticism too. We can only improve if we are willing to admit we aren't perfect, and could always be better!
So respond now. Let me know what you're working on, and if you have any questions!
Warm wishes,
Sean
P.S. Overdue critiques will be done very soon!!!

Write From Home!
Hi everyone,
I hope you're staying safe, healthy, and as happy as you can be through this crazy situation. COVID-19 (Coronavirus) is destined to be named the word of the year for 2020, along with phrases like social distancing and work from home. That said, this is also an OPPORTUNITY for all of us who love to write!
With more time spent taking remote classes or working from home, we have more leeway to keep that Word document or Deviant Art page up on our screens. YES, work and school are more important during the day, and we should all absolutely stay focused, but you can also make a pact with yourself right here and right now to get some
Mental Health Awareness
Dear Friends,
We're all here, not just in this group, but on the site in general, because we care about art. Most of us are artists struggling to be heard, recognized, and accepted. Very often in the pursuit of this feedback from our peers, we can inadvertently slip into a vulnerability that is more easily attacked.
I was the subject of such an attack on this site back in 2013, and the bully who came after me not only wrote a fake review on Amazon for one of my books, but convinced others *I* was somehow bullying *her*. Can you imagine that level of sickness? But people like that are out there, even right here in a community of artists.
So
Attention, We-Poets Members!
Two quick notes:
1) If you'd like to help moderate this group, so submissions go through quicker, please private message me (angelenroute). In your message, show me you've got a good grasp of basic spelling and grammar rules, as I need people who can communicate effectively with poets and writers who submit to the group. 99% of the time, you'll just be approving poems, but here and there when people mistakenly submit prose, foreign-language-only pieces (bilingual with English are fine), or other problematic issues arise, we need you to deny them in a friendly, kind way. :) So please get in touch if this sounds like something you can do. It's
NaNo Prep And Question For All Members
Hello!
I am SHOCKED to see that I have not sent a proper update to you all since November of last year! Shocked, I tell you! I mean it, this really is crazy, and totally unacceptable. I promise to try harder going forward!
This message is about TWO things:
1. NaNoWriMo
and
2. Whether you'd be interested in a semi-regular magazine for our group.
First off, NaNoWriMo is next month. It stands for National Novel Writing Month. If you haven't participated in the past, you really ought to consider doing so this year. It's fun, challenging, and completely free! "But Sean," you might be thinking, "I only write poetry, and even though I've alway

Currently working on a journal project for one of my characters where I'll at least update once a day, and at least over 100 words, plus a few poems in spare time.
